Cookie Policy
Effective: April 27, 2026 · Last updated: April 27, 2026
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We also use closely related technologies (local storage, session storage) for the same purposes; for simplicity we refer to all of them as “cookies” in this Policy.
2. Essential cookies (always on)
These are required for the Service to function. You cannot disable them without breaking sign-in. We do not need your consent for these cookies under applicable law.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
access_token | Authenticated session (httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax). | ~15 minutes |
refresh_token | Issuing new access tokens without re-login (httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax). | ~30 days |
__stripe_* | Set by Stripe during checkout to process your payment securely. | Session / up to 1 year |
3. Analytics cookies (opt-in)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Service is used in aggregate. These cookies are not set until you explicitly accept them via our consent banner. You can decline at any time and the cookies will be removed from your browser.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguish unique visitors (Google Analytics). | 2 years |
_ga_* | Persist session state for Google Analytics 4. | 2 years |
4. We do not use advertising cookies
EarnX does not run advertising and does not place advertising cookies on your device. We do not share data with ad networks or data brokers.
5. Native applications
Our native applications (macOS, iOS, Android) do not use HTTP cookies for authentication. Instead, they use the platform’s secure-storage facility to hold your authentication tokens. Analytics in the native apps is sent server-side via the GA4 Measurement Protocol and respects the same opt-in consent.
6. Managing cookies
- In the Service: use the consent banner that appears on first visit, or revisit your consent state in Settings.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block, delete, or be notified about cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in.
- Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honor GPC signals as an opt-out of analytics where applicable law requires.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
